The Carpathian Center of Cultural Heritage

The Carpathian Cultural Heritage Center consists of four centers: one in Poland in Bystre and three in Ukraine in Kolochava, Kosiv and Urych. The center was established in order to promote the heritage of the Carpathians, deepen knowledge in the field of cultural heritage management at the regional and local level and the involvement of local communities in the management of cultural properties. Promotion of the common heritage of the Polish-Ukrainian borderland is possible only thanks to the cooperation of entities operating on both sides of the border. Contemporary inhabitants of the Ukrainian Carpathians still cultivate old handicraft traditions to this day. On the Polish side, on the other hand, the motifs of traditional, local art are increasingly used in contemporary forms. Only the cooperation of entities from both sides of the border will allow to save local traditions.
