Kosiv

Kosiv is the capital of the Kosiv region distinguishing with the unique historical and cultural heritage. Sculpture, embroidery, kelim weaving and ceramics developed there, the latter one is trying to be listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Officially, there are 140 folk artists registered in the region inhabited by about 90 thousand people (the data of the National Association of Folk Art of Ukraine and the Regional National Union of Artists of Ukraine). However, over a half of the present population knows handicraft techniques which were passed down from generation to generation.


As part of the Carpathian Cultural Education Center Renow of the Carpathian Cultural Center The building is a three-story building with an area of 1,470 m2. The building was erected in the 1930s and until the beginning of the 1990s. A Hutsul carpet factory was often operating there. It has not been used for the last 20 years. Construction works renovation of the first floor of the building.
