The next edition of the herbal workshop in Daliowa took place from 7-9 June this year. Their participants have learned that the Low Beskids, especially in spring, is a great place for this kind of initiative.
The wealth of Carpathian flora allows you to get to know many species of plants – wildly growing, but very useful in the kitchen or in the home medicine cabinet. Learning is easier when it takes place under the supervision of a specialist, and it is certainly – herbalist and phytotherapist – Mrs Joanna Sadowska-Spindle, who conducted workshops.
Walks in the surrounding meadows were connected with stories about individual plants, their properties and how to use. The herbs collected during the hike were then used in practical classes. These included m.in. preparation of vinegar, composing herbal salt, making creams or cosmetic oils. An important part of the workshop was to discuss plant drying techniques or practical exercises with their maceration. Much attention has been paid to the use of plants in the kitchen. Participants had the opportunity to use their knowledge in preparing meals during practical classes in the kitchen.
